Perhaps our most popular event is the “Leadership in the Battlefield” program, which is a full day onsite program at Gettysburg Battlefield.

Stopping at key sites, the group learns about the events that happened on that site, who the leaders were, what decisions they made and why.

They then discuss how those decisions are similar to the ones made in today’s organizations, and
how the lessons from long ago can be applied to today’s workplace.

Next Leadership in the Battlefield is coming Spring 2024.

Dates:

Friday, April 5th to Gettysburg

Thursday, May 9th to Antietam.

Join a licensed battlefield historian and Down Set Lead facilitator Rod Bourn as they guide you chronologically through the Civil War battlefield in a modern coach bus.

Stopping at key sites (Seminary Ridge, Devil’s Den, etc.) you’ll learn about the events that happened over those 3 days in July 1863: who the leaders were, the decisions they made and why. The group then delves into how those battlefield decisions serve as lessons that can be applied in leading today’s organizations.

The coach bus leaves from the Hunt Valley Park & Ride at 8 a.m. and arrives back by 6 p.m. Light snacks and drinks are provided. A 90-minute mid-day break will provide you with time to explore the town and grab a bite (not included in price).

Past participants have described this day as “amazing”, “impactful”, and “great for building a better understanding within our team”.

Individuals, small groups, and work teams are all invited to attend!
